Well since my main profile was suspended for a violation (waiting to get reinstated cause it was first one for obscenity) I figured i'd blow some points on this one asking a question here. My marriage has been on and off rough really most of the 14 years its gone on so far. We were this close to divorce as of last august right at our anniversary. Things have improved, we've been going to counseling, worked thru some of the sexual issues on our own (actually last few weeks have been some of our best sex including premarital) and things seem headed the right way. We're going to vacation with the 3 kids (13f, 5f,1m all birthdays in late april/may) in hawaii, and i'm thinking about renewing our vows in the park thats by diamond head. Specifically this set of vows/service Welina Me Ke Aloha. We gather here together on the majestic slopes of Waikiki to celebrate the joyful union of this man,______ and this woman,______ in matrimony on this date of ______here on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Mahalo ia oe no ke aloha. We thank you for the beauty of this day, for the miracle of love, and for this exact moment. We are thankful for all the blessings given to ______and______for bringing their two hearts together as one with Love. Love is a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Love is a mountain Awash in lovely flowers. It is your home, Where all bright things shine. You feel it now, so strong and free, So part of every breath. That it must live beyond eternity. Love never ends. Oke aloha ka mea oi ae. Today, you are here to begin the weave of your marriage with the golden threads of love, hope and commitment. You are promising to share the happy and the sad, the joys and the sorrows, the riches and the hardships. The commitment is to one another, to be partners in life helping the other be stronger, wiser and the best friend. He palena ole ke aloha. ______and ______are you now ready to commit to one another? Do you take______ to be your wedded wife, To love, honor, and cherish her in all of your days? Do you take______ to be your wedded husband, To love, honor, and cherish him in all of your days? Throughout the world, rings are a sign of eternity, for as circles they have no beginning or ending. These rings are the symbol of your pure love and promises which you share together as husband and wife. (Repeat and place the ring) Me ke aloha pumehana. With all my love, and for all the world to see, I have chosen you as my husband/wife. It is my heart's desire to be with you throughout my life, and I shall love you always. "YOUR OWN WORDS TO EACH OTHERS" (poems, tributes, songs, gifts or any words from your heart) You were born to be together, and together you shall be forevermore. You shall be together even in your silent memory. Memory is once more alive for the love of you. The secrets within me are seen through your love. May you create a home that surrounds your family and friends with Warmth, laughter and love and may your love be eternal. I ola mau oe me ka mauli ola. He ola lo'ihi a ola kino maika'i, a e pomaikai mau 'ia'oe, i pomaikai ia na kanaka e a'e i kou ola a pau. It is our wish that your pure love will never be dimmed by the demands of the world. May you always believe in the vows you have made here today throughout your lives. May you have long life and good health, and may you be greatly blessed so that you may be a blessing to many others. Now in the witness of the state of Hawaii, who performs all true marriages. It is my honor that I pronounce you, partners in life, soul mates, Husband and Wife. You may kiss your bride and you may kiss your groom. So what do you think? A piece of why I want to do it with the kids there is that the 13 year old has definitely caught us fighting (not physically, just scream/yell/curse) a number of times, and maybe the 5 year old has too. So I was thinking this would be a nice happy warm feely thing for us all. Our anniversary is in August, but we met in April 95. Dated in May, moved in together in June, proposed in July, married in August, pregnant in September :)Just to clarify a little, I'm not expecting this to fix anything. We've made good progress both with using counseling, as well as on our own as a part of what counseling is valuable for is giving you the toolbox to deal with the relationship. In a way I guess I'm sort of looking at it as maybe a fresh start, try and forget the sleeping on the couch on my 14th anniversary, some of the horrible things we've said to each other, etc. moreResolved Question: I want to get a gift for my girlfriend for a special day...is a golden covered rose a good idea?

One reads "Texas Rangers 150th Anniversary" Dated 1823-1973. It is preeettyy long, you dont have to read all of it?
OK, truthfully, its like 16pages, you could just read an excerpt tho, if you start from the begining, please bear with me, it is not that well written Chapter One Chione looked up from the silken shentis she was washing. It was a beautiful day. Ra’s blinding light shone down from the clear blue sky onto the Pharaoh’s garden, reflecting off the clear, blue pond. The newly watered roses glistened and the grape vines gracefully twined around the towering palm trees. Occasionally a date or two would fall down, and if Chione was lucky enough, she’d catch one. Tall, brick walls surrounded the entire garden, and the only way you could see into it was to look through the just as tall, just as magnificent golden gate. A few paces away, she saw some young boys laughing and playing with the youngest of all seventeen of the Pharaoh’s sons, Chisika. Freedom, something she had wanted ever since her first day as a slave, at two inundations old. Both her parents had died, leaving her as an orphan. It was the Pharaoh’s tenth anniversary as being a pharaoh, and the orphanage’s head woman gave Chione to him as her gift. Chione sometimes remembered little things about her past life, her mother’s hair, her father’s voice, and most of all the overflowing affection they gave her. Life as a slave was dull. It was hard; if work wasn’t done right, you would get whipped quite often. Others yelled at you. You were nothing. A beetle under a sandal, waiting to get squashed. Same routine, every day. Wake up, eat breakfast scraps, wash whatever clothes that needed to be washed, eat evening meal scraps, wait outside the queen’s room until clapped for, eat dinner scraps, then go to bed at the servants’ quarters. She had naught but one friend, Reshed, the palace kitchen boy. A boy of fourteen inundations with dark brown hair and hazel eyes that reflected kindness. He was rarely seen without a smile and he could cheer any miserable soul. They spent as much time together as they could. They told one another everything, they snuck through the secret passages together they, played mischievous pranks on Wati together, they- “STOP DAYDREAMING GIRL!” Chione snapped to attention and tensed when she saw that it was Wati. Nonchalant Wati, arms crossed, leaning on the doorway’s frame, with a bored expression on her face and a superior air to her. She had long, lustrous black hair and heavily painted eyes. Her leather sandals were neatly strapped. Her new, clean dress was tied off onto one side. Being a servant had many advantages, and one of them was having better clothes and sandals to protect their feet from the hot ground. “Go away, Wati!” and Chione flung a nearby rotten fig at her. She knew that she shouldn’t, especially at the head servant, but she couldn’t help it. Wati screamed, a guard looked up, a whip came out, it all happened too fast, and next thing she knew, there was a lash across her back. Two seconds later she felt the searing pain, as if someone had drove a hot knife down her back. “Oh, Sature, thank you but it really wasn’t necessary” Wati said in a honeyed voice that fooled everyone but Chione. “I am doing but a guard’s job” Chione hated those words as much as she hated Wati, for they always meant that she was in trouble. Daughter of a jackal she thought flirting with one just to use as a tool later, while she only has eyes for Pharaoh, she scowled, the swine. After a half hour of washing and scowling and bearing the pain, she got up and walked over to the palace, basket full of shentis balanced on her hip. Her bare feet crunched on the hot gravel, and a cold breeze passed through her short, sleek, brown hair. After a few minutes, her feet touched the hard, cold, marble floor of the palace and she turned toward the stairs to the palace rooftop- Clothes dried much faster there. She glanced back at the gardens, and thought of how much she wished to be free. She looked forward and suddenly bumped into a figure. Wet shentis and honey cakes flew everywhere, and two youths fell to the ground. “Watch where you’re going you-” but she stopped in mid-sentence, for she had bumped into Reshed. “Ast!” he exclaimed” Chione look at what you’ve done, Nekonkh will kill me!” “Ai! Reshed I am so sorry!” Chione bent down to pick the honey cakes up. “No use now, Pharoah’s desert is ruined” Chione gasped, she assumed they would be put away until the inundation feast. Forget Nekonkh, what would Pharaoh do? He was not in a very gracious mood; he was having a hard time of finding a wife for his eldest son, Ramses. “Well maybe you can bake new ones” Chione desperately groped for an idea. “Chione there is no time” just as Reshed finished his sentence, they saw that there, standing before them was Pharaoh. They had not heard approaching footsteps over their quarrel. Their foreheads automatically pressed against the hard, cold floor, bowing out of respect. One look at the honey cakes made his moreResolved Question: Grandparents 50th anniversary gift ideas?

John was in trouble, really big trouble. You see, he forgot his wedding anniversary and, if you’re married, you can imagine what he’s probably going through. His wife was really pissed. She told him “Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE!” She was serious too, so John got serious. The next morning he woke up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped, right there in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife threw her robe on and ran out to the driveway, brought the box back in the house and opened in with much anticipation. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Inside she found a brand new bathroom scale. John has been missing since Thursday. moreResolved Question: Anyone know the "Golden Rule" applying to....?
Approx. a month ago I purchased a limited edition 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Kid doll at Wal-Mart. (for those of you not familiar, they are a re-make of the exact CPK dolls they sold back in the early 80's when the dolls first became popular) I wasnt that crazy about the style but was afraid they might not get another shipment- So I snatched it up figuring that if they did get another shipment in I could just exchange it... WELL- I was in Wal-Mart just before Christmas and they had a TON of them so the next chance I got I grabbed the CPK I had previously purchased and off I went. After making my selection I went back to the service desk at which time I realized I had forgotten my receipt. Which I didnt think it would be any big deal as I wasnt looking to return it. Im not sure of Wal-Marts return/exchange policy but in the past any time I neededto exchange something (and didnt have a receipt) it was fine. The only time Ive needed a receipt or picture ID was if I wanted to RETURN an item- and if I didnt have my receipt they would put the cost of the item on a gift card (the downside to this is that if the item had recently been on sale/clearance I would be refunded sale/clearance price) Needless to say I didnt have a picture ID on me but once again didnt think it would be a problem as I wanted to EXCHANGE not RETURN and considering the dolls were now on sale for $20 and not the $30 I had paid I really didnt think there would be any type of issue- BUT the woman was totally rude and wouldnt exchange the doll! Not even after I pointed out that I had paid $30 for mine but would be fine with not receiving the $10 back (as it was my fault for forgetting my receipt) So basically Im just wondering if anyone knows the standard exchange/return guidlines for Wal-Mart or similar dept. stores and if Im the only one that thinks it was just a bunch of BS- THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!I thought my question was pretty detailed, but obviously not (or someone just likes to spout of and be rude rather than answer the qustion thats being asked) -THAT SAID- Im not asking about returning the item, Im asking if theres any reason they couldnt allow me to EXCHANGE it for a different style as Ive never had problems exchanging items there before and have only needed a receipt if I wanted to return something (at which time you will receive a gift card unless you have a photo ID then they will give u the cash) ALSO- just to clarify I didnt just walk in and around the store with the doll- I walked in and got a tag at the front door which lets the people at the service desk know that you didnt just walk into the store, grab one and try to return it....in response to "Quite New" You may think they are "ugly" but they were a big part of my childhood- and I wanted to purchase one for my niece as they brought me alot of joy as a small child. Did you not own one as a child? If not maybe thats why you dont care for them as an adult. I remember they were quite costly ($30.00) twenty years ago~ so alot of kids parents couldnt afford one.Sorry to add so many details but with every answer I get it seems I need to make a clarification~ To answer your question LMC- I was making an exchange for the same item. Just a different style (which shouldnt have been a problem as no 2 are alike) As far as the price differential- I would have been the one taking the loss not them- I had spent $30 plus tax on the one I brought in to exchange-the one I was exchanging it for was only $20 Additionally, the reason I couldnt just run back and pick up the receipt is that I was with a friend and we had just spent an hour driving to Wal-Mart and neither of us felt like spending another 2 hours round trip for a receipt... moreResolved Question: How's my plan for our Six Month Anniversary?
Our six month is coming up and I thought about doing this... We'll have all of Saturday off so first we'll go to the San Francisco Zoo. After that we'll drive about 10mins to the Japanese Tea Gardens at Golden Gate Park and walk around looking at that. And then drive 5mins to dinner at this restaurant called El Mansour, it's Moroccan food and they put on belly dancing shows. Overall it should cost less than $115. She's wanted to go to the tea gardens for quite some time now, she loves animals, and she's tired of going to the same restaurants every night so she wants to try something new. Sooo I thought I'd surprise her with this. Any suggestions? Don't say get her a gift cos her gift is time spent with me... how would you improve this and is it too much? moreResolved Question: what makes a good golden wedding aniversary gift?

Should I attend?
My parents will have their Golden Anniversary next summer. For a few years now they have lived in the same house but separately and avoid each other except for meals and when there are visitors. Too old for divorce I guess. They haven't celebrated anniversaries for several years. It would be sad to just ignore this milestone of being married 50 years. My family lives a few hours by plane away from my parents. My mother said there could be a dinner out at a restaurant for immediate family but that's all the celebration she'd want and forget about gold gifts. My father would just mutter he couldn't care less about it if I asked him. So should I and my family make a special trip for the 50th anniversary if we wouldn't otherwise have been planning on going there next summer?Forgot to mention I have siblings and their families who live near my parents and would attend a dinner there of course. moreResolved Question: Where in Perth can I buy a bottle of wine, champagne or sparkling wine with gold flakes in it b4 this weekend?

Thanks once again & have a fantastic long weekend! Frances moreResolved Question: What's the best way to buy a cruise as an upgradable gift?
Buying a cruise as a golden anniversary gift. I can afford bare-bones but wanted to make it upgrade-able if other family members want to contribute and allow them to change it however they want. I've talked to a travel agent close to the recipients and one close to me. I like "mine" better but not sure it's the best option. The couple is older, one born in Canada (the departure country of the cruise) and one in Europe. I want to be very sure that someone will help them with their passports to be sure they can re-enter the USA. Considered just opening a gift fund with a travel agent, but every time we give them money to buy something, they give it to "someone who needs it more". A travel fund would likely be used to buy tickets for their kids to come visit - but maybe that's their prerogative? The anniversary is Dec. 20. The cruises I'm looking at depart n May or June. moreResolved Question: Needing food items that have the word gold or golden in them to help clebrate a golden anniversary.?
