Got an automated call and decided to say, yes, that's me (not nickname I go by, but typos on envelopes happen, so why not here), and a lady from afni QUICKLY said I owe Verizon this amount, on this phone number at this address. I've never live there or heard of address or phone number and never knew anyone from the city it's in. She said i don't have to live there to be paying the bill. I called Verizon and was passed around to a couple different departments til someone gave me a # for their (I think), id theft and said I need to dispute. I don't, but asked how it was spelled anyway, Terry, Teri, Terri... She got huffy and said, 'IT'S JUST TERRY!' Near the end is when they asked for my DL# and after questioning she said she was just trying to help make sure it wasn't me on the acct. After i did it, she said it's not long enough. It needs to be longer. ?? It's not in my data base. Both calls the operator was very huffy when I wanted to write down exactly what the company was and get more info from her. Im from Washington State and was in an accident on the highway in October of 2011. I was under the influence, but not alcohol (benzos), so the cops took me in and I gave a blood sample. They never gave me any papers or anything, and since my car was no longer running they even gave me a ride home! I was very scared and called as many lawyers as I could and set up consultations to discuss my inevitable DUI. Never having gone through this before, I was a little shocked at the price of a private attorney and just stopped looking. I waited and waited and a summons never came. I thought maybe there had been a complication with my blood sample and I forgot about it. Moved to Texas to "start over" in May 2011. Didn't think to change my address with the courts and found out I had a bench warrant for a DUI arraignment I missed. It was then almost a year later they finally charged me! So I called the clerk's office and she suggested I fax the judge a letter explaining I was no longer living in Washington. I did. The response was my warrant was quashed and she reset my date 45 days out. In my letter I made sure to mention that I was doing good, and had found a job here and I went to rehab beforehand (which I had) and I really want to take care of this! BOOM. About a week later I get pulled over and knocked with a DUI in Houston. Needless to say, they gave me a ride to Harris County instead of my house. So now I've the same charge, same EXACT court dates, in two different states... I did hire a lawyer in TX and she informed the judge of the situation and the judge extended my court date another 14 days. I just couldn't afford plane tickets back and forth, and so I just started feeling really helpless and didn't know what to do . I started to think I'll just do the jail time. I don't know what to do!!! I have no job. Can I apply for a PD even if my court date has already passed? My plan was to get into rehab AGAIN because my addiction and my shitty attitude are preventing me from taking action. Maybe that would look good on my part? Also I was kicked out of where i was living in TX so they paid for a one-way ticket home for me, like get the fuck out! Lately I have been a "news junkie", reading magazines, watching most cable news, researching political web sites, and trying to discern fact vs fiction,etc. Thus far here are some of my prognostications , some came to fruition others still up in the air. 2 months ago when polls had Obama winning by a large margin I predicted Dems were over sampled, skewing the poll numbers, and that the silent majority for Romney was out there but not being heard. I was annoyed because it was seemingly affording Obama continued momentum, albeit artificial momentum however it was getting his base more excited to vote Obama. I made this prediction just before the news were talking about possible over sampling. About one month ago I predicted P.A. would be in play for Romney. It now is. When Romney picked Ryan as his running mate many liberals were happy because they thought it was a " death wish" for Romney. I thought it was a great pick to have a consistent, young conservative and that this would help Romney with younger conservative voters who aren't as eager to vote as the older generation conservatives. Overall a wise choice. I predicted Libya Scandal was going to be a "thorn in the side" of Obama and that it will get worse for him. I made this assumption about 5 days after the attack when I began to suspect a cover up was under foot. I predicted Obamas Foreign policy credentials or lack of it was going to be almost as important as the economy. I was correct. I insinuated through my "dear letters" to Hillary that she would take the fall for Obama. She did. I predict Obama is hoping he can "strike" against the terrorists in Libya. He might but at the expense of his suggestions that terrorism is on the decline. Such a strike will not help or hurt him in poll numbers. It's too little too late I predicted the liberal media would carry the water for Obama even if it meant losing more viewers. They have and continue to put political philosophy over their own profit margin which reveals abit of delusional thinking on their part. Fox has the wisest business model .. I predicted Romney would easily win the first debate with substance. Some things that I wish Romney would focus more on - Gas prices. This affects everyone and is a good domestic argument to make. I also hope he focuses on green energy companies and the unwise investments Obama has made with billions of dollars. Those are examples of Obama picking losers and not having the business smarts to know better. I predict Obama will do a better job tonight than his first debate which shouldn't be too hard for him to do. I believe Romney will win with substance. Tonight the media will not explode with disappointment but rather insinuate it was a tie. As of now I feel Romney has a 70% chance to win the white house to Obamas 30%. I wanna hear from you!
